Century Arms is a company that builds "new" items with surplus parts. They also build items with new manufactured parts. Some of their rifles are great and others are not.
My experience has been a literal roll of the dice with Century. Why is the price different? Could be anything from the extra capacity to the fact FDE is a very popular color.
Chances are this one has been built with brand new components, hence why the price is different. There are no problems related to Century Arms C Don't have an account?

I came into ownership of a Century Arms C a few weeks back. Like, if I could find a skinnier buttpad I think it'd fit better. BUT, I can't find one. AK Warsaw pact length of pull is almost perfect for me that's around 13" if I recall correctly. So what stocks would anyone suggest. You can get a telescoping stock similar to the MP5A3 stock, I think that's a bit smaller than the fixed stock. Hey zero, any chance you can pull the stock and recoil system off? I would like to see how they mate together.
I have a ptr stock at home i could take a measurement if needed. Hmm the plate and recoil piece in the stock look the same.
How do you determine length of pull for your self? The stock i have is 10 inches long with recoil pad minus the metal plate for attaching to the receiver.

Just wondering is the firing pin was getting stuck out and striking the next cartridge but idk for sure. I did see where some one else with that model had the same issue and bought a new pack and it solved their issues. Called Century armsgot a voice mail Join Date Mar Posts 2, What you're likely getting is called a bump fire. The recoiling rifle bounces off your shoulder and the trigger hits your finger again. Some guys practice to be able to do this consistently.
This sort of thing is more common toward the end of magazine when you're doing rapid fire though it can really happen anytime. To prove it is this and not some mechanical issue you can heat the rifle up and then fire a mag using your normal stance and hold. Then fire another mag with the rifle held more solidly with a distinct solid trigger pull for each round holding the trigger back hard.
The trigger mechanism of both the cetme and hk don't normally lend themselves to failures that would promote accidental firing of that type. As others noted the rollers won't allow the firing pin to hit the primer unless locked and the spring on the firing pin will prevent its already low mass from inertia firing. Good luck Frank.
Join Date Sep Posts 1, I wondered about that Wonder if century had a bunch of bad ones and set a good price to dealers to get rid of them. When they first came out the theory was as the surplus parts they bought to build these started to run low the prices would go up. Seems like the opposite happened. Were you able to locate the expended casing of the rounds that went off without your pulling the trigger? A quick look at the primer should tell you if the firing pin hit it as hard as a normal firing event.
If it is a light strike, I would re-measure the firing pin and see if it fully retracts into the bolt face. If it is a hard strike, then you need to check your trigger pack for sear engagement. Both work flawlessly but I had to tweak the gap on the charging handle on both of them shortly after purchase.
The double firing you are getting with a hot gun makes me think it is related to some metal expansion, but nothing is coming to mind with metal expansion that would cause the double.

The U. This makes it more worthwhile for Century and other manufacturers to go through the effort at re-creating arms that normally would not be available. The C has all three. The STG45 was slated to replace the granddaddy of all assault rifles, the STG44, because of its simplicity of manufacture resulting in lower cost and greater production potential. The roller delayed blowback operating system uses recoil forces to manipulate the action and does not rely on gases to operate the weapon.
There is no need to tap the barrel to bleed off gas directly into the action or via a piston. This operation method minimizes opportunities for dirt or carbon build up to affect reliability. The design also contributes to accuracy by having the barrel truly free-floated; furthermore the roller delayed blowback system avoids sharp recoil impulses derived from direct gas impingement or operating rod systems. The difference in recoil impulse of a rifle utilizing the roller delayed blowback method versus direct impingement or a gas piston of the same caliber and weight is noticeable.
Century Arms has prior experience with producing U. The 7. C is following this same path. Total weight is 8. The C comes with an integral rail on the receiver for mounting of optics.
The C arrives with two round aluminum G3 magazines and one 5-round magazine. CETME magazines will not work with the rifle. Century is quick to point out that their roller delayed CETME type rifles experienced quality control issues. The issues resided with receiver manufacturing, mixing of CETME and HK surplus parts kits, and headspacing techniques with the roller delayed bolt.
Century decided to redo their roller delayed. Stamped receivers from an experienced U. All of these decisions simplify quality control and produces a better product benefitting consumers. The trigger group dropped away easily allowing for unhindered access to the bore for cleaning. The bolt carrier and recoil spring come out of the back of the receiver once the rear stock is removed and trigger pack lowered.
Why else would we carry just about every component of the rifle? We have G3 sears, G3 buffer springs, G3 triggers, G3 locking roller holders, G3 rear sight washers and many more. You name it and we probably have it. In fact, you can almost build an entire G3 rifle from scratch from parts found on our website alone. How cool is that?A320 rutracker
Well, add another part to the list because Keepshooting. The G3 steel trigger group is an original surplus part from Germany manufactured by HK. Needless to say, the trigger group is a very important component on the G3 as it houses a number of the moving parts that keep the rifle operational.
You may be pleased to hear the every G3 steel trigger group also includes an olive drab pistol grab as well as a selector switch with settings for safe, semi-automatic and full auto. As noted, the G3 steel trigger group is an original factory component made in Germany by HK. These trigger groups were stripped from service rifles used during the s, which means you are not only getting a complete, fully-functional trigger group, but a piece of history as well. Unlike the Navy-style trigger groups that are commonly found today, the housing for these trigger groups is constructed using steel as opposed to polymer.
These are the trigger groups that were originally found on the G3A3 variant. On the G3 rifle, the trigger group is mounted to the receiver as well as the buttstock via the lower locking pins. Each steel trigger group comes with one olive drab pistol grip mounted to the frame. This component is extremely important to the functionality of the G3 as it houses all of the fire controls, including the trigger, sear, hammer and selector switch. Spare parts and accessories are an important consideration when it comes to firearms.
Like any machine, firearms rely on a series of parts to function properly. This is especially true of the trigger group, which houses all of the fire controls. Keeping this component of the rifle in working order should be made a top priority. The original HK91 rifles that were imported into the US prior to were beyond my budget at that time of my life, and after George H. Bush banned the import of them inprices have been steadily going higher.
Century C308: U.S. Version of Classic 7.62x51/.308 Win. Roller Delayed Blowback Cold War Warrior
Since that time, there have been various versions of the rifle on the US market; some imported from Greece and others made in the US, such as the PTR rifles. Most have lacked a solid, affordable way to mount a quality scope sight, but the C shown here, thankfully has a Picatinny spec rail permanently attached for easily mounting an optical sight to the receiver.
It fires the powerful 7. It is light enough to carry as a main battle rifle, yet still has the power to fire upon targets at yards and beyond. The design of the rifle, using a relatively low bore axis keeps felt recoil and muzzle jump low, for faster follow up shots, as well as reducing shooter fatigue.
Being of G3 design, the C uses the cheap and plentiful surplus G3 magazines, and it ships with two twenty-round magazines, as well as one five-round magazine.

The C wears an eighteen inch barrel, fitted at the muzzle with a very effective muzzle brake. Velocity results are listed in the chart below.Mathematical symbols and their meanings pdf
Velocity readings were recorded at an elevation of feet above sea level with and air temperature of sixty-four degrees Fahrenheit and a relative humidity of fifty-four percent. Velocity readings are the average of several shots fired, measured at a distance of twelve feet from the muzzle, so actual muzzle velocities will be slightly higher. For accuracy testing from the bench, I mounted a Leupold Mark 4 8.Storia del mozambico
I rested the C into a Target Shooting, Inc. Model rifle restfiring three-shot groups at one hundred yards.
Bullet weights are listed in grains. Velocities are listed in feet-per-second fps. Group sizes are listed in inches. XLC is a coated Barnes X bullet. HPBT is a hollowpoint match bullet. During all firing sessions, the C performed very well, with exceptions. Early on, it was clear that the five-round magazine was not going to function at all in this rifle. To me, that is no big deal, as this weapon was designed and built to run with twenty-round magazines, and with those they function well.
However, if you need a low-round magazine, I am sure that Century would replace that five-round mag under warranty. The two twenty-round magazines functioned perfectly throughout the tests, with one exception, in which I had a double-feed.
This malfunction is shown in the video, and only occurred once. Other than that, with the twenty-round mags, the weapon fed, fired, and ejected every cartridge perfectly. The cases come out dirty and dinged-up, but they come out every time, which is the most-important thing.
The C handles very well, and felt recoil is light, due to its excellent stock design and its nominal nine-pound weight. Specs list the C at eight pounds, but mine weighs just a fraction of an ounce under nine pounds, with no magazine.
